     LOCATION: in the heart of historic Charleston overlooking Colonial
               Lake. The building dates from 1922 and has the ambiance
               of a small European hotel. King Street and the Market
               area are within walking distance.

   MAX LENGTH: 3 to 4 days
     EXPENSES: food (guest is responsible for long distance calls)
 EXPECTATIONS: My condo is very small with only one bedroom and bath;
               therefore, a guest must be congenial and willing to
               share charming but rather cramped living arrangements.
    LANGUAGES: I read French well but am not able to speak it beyond
               the most elementary level. English is my mother tongue.
     THE HOST: I'm an independent humanities scholar with a Master's
               degree in English literature who works as a programmer
               analyst at the College of Charleston. My interests
               are wide-ranging and include architectural history,
               opera and travel. I do free-lance writing and enjoy
               building- watching on the weekends with my camera.
               I welcome the opportunity to share the beauty
               and history of Charleston with a guest.
        OTHER: Avoid the summer months if possible;
               Charleston's heat and humidity are formidable!
